Or Maybe Not

8 Awful Eighties Fantasy Films You Probably Forgot All About

I've seen five of them and enjoyed at least three of them in my own weird way.

I bet the draw was Barbi Benton, right?

I'm 0 for 8 on these.

I'm only two for eight on these; I saw KRULL, and offhand I don't remember a thing about it. But I remember enjoying THE SWORD AND THE SORCEROR quite a bit, ridiculous sword (and it IS ridiculous) or not. It had the longest list of stunt players I'd ever seen in a movie up to that time.

"The Warrior and the Sorcereress" was another uncredited knockoff of "Yojimbo" (or "Red Harvest," take yer pick), notable for an incidental, three-breasted mutant woman in one scene. I saw "Deathstalker" in its theatrical release, in those days when B-movies still played in theaters. IMDB says that "Deathstalker II" also had a theatrical release. III, and IV were both DtV. Nice Boris Vallejo art on the posters and VHS boxes for all four.

The ones I've seen are YOR, THE HUNTER FROM THE FUTURE, DEATHSTALKER, HAWK THE SLAYER, KRULL, and THE SWORD AND THE SORCERER. Jeff is right about the draw to DEATHSTALKER. I've also seen DEATHSTALKER II.

I re-watched SWORD AND THE SORCERER a couple months ago.
KRULL was once on constant rotation on HBO. That flick was so boring it made me angry.
