Gould made a lot of movies in the early 1970s...some of which (Move, Getting Straight) probably did not boost his reputation as an actor. Could Whiffs fall in this category?

Haven't seen it, but it doesn't sound promising.

This is one of the earlier films i remember getting almost universal pans among the reviewers, in local papers and elsewhere. Also, unsurprisingly, the studio/distributor arrayed the title as W*H*I*F*F*F*S...which was transparently pathetic to everyone.

I've yet to see it, either. Both MOVE and GETTING STRAIGHT sounded a bit better, actually. Mush less Bergman's first English-language film.

Well, with only 2 Fs. So only double failure!

Odd how the cast seems like early-70s archetypes now.
