We lived in Santa Fe when the show premiered. That meant that the 3 networks that were pretty much the only game in town were crunched onto two television stations so shows sometimes came on at strange times. The Monkees were on at 6:00 and it was the only TV my brothers and I were allowed to watch during dinner.
I can't even imagine having only 2 TV stations anymore.

I don't think we watched the first episode (I was 13 at the time), but we did sometimes watch the show. Lord, was it that long ago?
