They really are. We went to a Cheesecake Factory on Friday on Long Island, and the ENTIRE MALL had closed except two restaurants (the other was P.F. Chiang) plus a couple of other places. It was almost as quiet as the Riverwalk in New Orleans after Katrina.

Our local mall is a ghost town. It's last anchor client, J.C. Penney, will be closing soon and the rest of the stores are falling like dominoes. What's interesting is that a large outdoor shopping center, where go have to go outside to walk between stores, has opened and is doing bang-up business. Every time I go over there, I have a hard time finding a parking space!
