I remember that day perfectly. I was working in the city and a co-worker invited me to his home in the Bronx to watch. (I believe it was on both CBS and NBC.) I took the subway all the way up there and we watched. I remember at halftime we went out and threw a football around in the park with his friends. Everyone was rooting for the Packers and there was no expectation they would or could lose.

I miss the old days.

I became mildly famous for 15 minutes in grad school that year because I referred to a special course that they were offering as The Super Course.

I watched it in a bar in Tucson, AZ, that had a big for the time color TV, with friends. (I had a dinky B&W TV at the time). As I often did and still do, I was rooting for the underdog, but didn't care that much who won, just enjoyed the game.

And what a boring football game it was...
